Trezor.io/Start⁕ | Starting Up Your Device™ — Trezor®

Welcome to Trezor’s official quick start. This guide helps you safely set up your Trezor® hardware wallet, step by step. Follow each instruction carefully — proper setup protects your crypto from loss and theft.

Unbox & Inspect

When your package arrives, verify seals and packaging for signs of tampering. Inside you’ll find your Trezor device, USB cable, recovery seed cards, and quick-start notes. If anything looks suspicious, contact official support before proceeding.

Connect & Open Trezor Suite

  1. Type trezor.io/start into your browser (avoid links sent by email or chat).
  2. Download Trezor Suite (desktop or web) from the official page and install it.
  3. Connect your Trezor to your computer or mobile device using the included cable.

Initialize Your Device

  1. Choose Create new wallet in Trezor Suite and follow the on-screen prompts.
  2. Set a secure PIN directly on the device — the PIN prevents unauthorized access to the hardware wallet.
  3. Write down the recovery seed (24 words) on the supplied cards exactly as shown. Store this seed offline — it’s the only way to restore your wallet if your device is lost or damaged.

Update Firmware & Confirm

Allow Trezor Suite to check for and install the latest official firmware. Verify that messages shown in the app match what appears on your device screen before approving any action. Never accept firmware from unknown sources.

Essential security tips: Never store your recovery seed digitally or photograph it. Use a metal backup for long-term protection if possible. Beware of phishing—always confirm you are on trezor.io.

Start Managing Crypto

Add accounts within Trezor Suite to receive and send supported cryptocurrencies. All private keys remain inside your device; transactions are signed on-device for maximum security.
